About

I had always envisioned myself as a writer. But as a youth, I had nothing to write about. Life whisked me away on its journey, and I only began writing in the last two years, beginning with a memoir-style story about my past adventures. I then switched gears and began writing a young adult series. My first self-published work is Rico the Raccoon and the Proof of the Puffs.

I use storytelling to examine heavy sociopolitical issues through the lens of adventure, rich settings, and characters who navigate the chaos of modern life. My writing blends the analytical with the imaginative, bringing to life the intricate struggles of people and the world around them.

I reside in Victoria, British Columbia, where I enjoy hiking, biking, and exploring the region. The salty sea air and towering mountains fuel my creativity and shape the worlds I create in my writing.

Beyond storytelling, I am an avid traveler and love discovering great hikes or secret snorkeling spots. Lately, I have become increasingly aware of the rapid changes occurring economically and climatically. I also have a deep passion for marine mammals, especially the challenge of deciphering their language. I often refer to this communication barrier as the Dr. Doolittle Syndrome, a reminder of how much we have yet to understand about the minds with which we share this planet.
